Eco-Urban Living in Downtown Denver

Downtown Denver's first sustainable apartment building, which has been under construction at 1956 Lawrence Street since January, held its ceremonial groundbreaking on May 15th.  Solera is being developed by Zocalo Community Development and will be LEED Certified Gold.  This will be the second LEED mixed use project that Zocalo has built in Downtown after their RiverClay project in Jefferson Park sold out.  When complete, Solera will be 11 stories tall and feature 120 studio, one and two bedroom residences.  Unit and building features include recycled quartz counters, Energy Star appliances, dual flush toilets, preferred parking for hybrid vehicles, low-VOC building materials, solar photovoltaic electricity production, bike parking and a roof top deck.  Building completion is scheduled for June 2010.
