Whoever said a penny can't get you anywhere these days might be right most of the time, but on the first Saturday of every month, from 10 am to 6 pm, the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver will be opening its doors to everyone for yes, one penny!

This popular event will allow visitors to experience a number of truly unique activities. You can spend part of your day on a docent guided tour of new exhibits and hands-on workshops in the Idea Box, while spending the other stimulating your taste buds at the MCA CAFÉ.

This day will also be highlighted by MCA Denver and Swallow Hill Music Association's presentation of Seeing Out Loud, an MI 5 Musical Experience. Here you will be able to live your gallery experience out loud as you record sounds on the Idea Box with traditional musical instruments and unexpected objects. These sounds will then be mixed by musician and audio wizard Colin Bricker into an ambient musical experience that will be heard throughout the building.
