Northeast Denver real estate ranges from modest bungalows to towering, luxury condos. Most of the neighborhoods here are a melting pot of old and new, wealthy and average incomes, and residential and commercial properties. Somehow it all works in Northeast Denver.

Neighborhoods

Northeast Denver is made up of a collection of distinct neighborhoods. Every area has its own character and flavor with a unique housing stock. Below are just a few areas Northeast Denver real estate shoppers will want to consider:

  • City Park – Named for the 330-acre urban park in the heart of the neighborhood, City Park is located northeast of downtown Denver. This is a small neighborhood – just two blocks wide and a mile long outside of the park – but it offers a good selection of new and classic homes. City Park also boasts an eclectic mixture of shops and restaurants.
  • Curtis Park/Five Points – Located just north of downtown, Curtis Park is a neighborhood rich with history, filled with brick row homes, Victorian mansions and modest cottage-style houses. The area’s tree-lined streets add to the charm of this mixed neighborhood. Adjacent Five Points, once the home of Denver’s civic and business leaders, has enjoyed a renaissance in the last decade. This neighborhood, connected with downtown by Denver’s first light rail line, also offers a diverse mixture of northeast Denver real estate, including row houses, 19th century mansions and townhouses. Five Points is also home to a number of popular jazz clubs.
  • Stapleton – One of Denver’s newest neighborhoods, Stapleton sits on the site of Denver’s former Stapleton Airport, which closed in 1995 to make way for the new Denver International Airport. Now home to nearly 11,000 residents, the neighborhood is a shining example of land renewal. The homes here may be new, but they aren’t boring! No house is allowed to be like the one next door, and most garages here are behind rather than in front of the home. A town center, within walking distance of most residences, offers shops and services and a real sense of community pervades the area. Now in its 10th year of development, Stapleton still offers one of the largest stocks of undeveloped lots in the core of a major U.S. city.
  • Uptown – Located adjacent to downtown, Uptown is one of Denver’s hippest neighborhoods, with plenty of restaurants, night clubs and one-of-a-kind boutiques. Housing here includes Queen Anne Victorians, loft conversions and high-rise condo complexes. There’s something for every taste. Uptown also borders City Park and the miles of walking and biking paths located there.
  • Whittier – Another of Denver’s old historic neighborhoods, Whittier is a favorite of those seeking classic Northeast Denver real estate. Located two miles northeast of downtown, Whittier is home to some of Denver’s most photographed homes. Most of the neighborhood is residential and most of the homes predate World War II, with Victorian homes and early 20th century craftsman homes predominating.
